Players Shooting their Age

Our tournaments, now open to all Stanford faculty/staff and alumni with playing privileges, are designed to provide fun, friendly competition for players of all levels. Lunch is almost always included, prizes for about 1/3 of the field are awarded, and players are grouped into flights by handicaps. Men's Section members also have many opportunities to play at other private clubs. For detailed sign-up information please go to our Golf Fusion tournament website.

Sat, Mar 16 8:00 shotgun	Play the Course as You Find It	Play the great Stanford course in a setup unlike any you'll ever see. Unique pin positions and tee locations lead to new challenges on every hole. The format is a 4-man scramble with your team or one paired by the committee.
Sat, Apr 6 8:00 shotgun	Stanford Open	Open to non-members, this event is the only golf tournament available to the entire Stanford community --- men and women members, faculty and staff, alumni and students. Compete as two-person teams in a net best ball event where members can invite their Stanford affiliated friends to play. Individual low gross men's and women's champions will be recognized as well. See 2013 event info.
Sat-Sun May 4-5 8:00 shotgun	President's Cup	This is our first "major" of the year. Come play in our annual net better ball format for the President's Cup and you also have a chance to represent Stanford Men's Club in the Senior NCGA 4-Ball Qualifiers.
Wed May 22 TBD	Bayonet vs Stanford Team Match	This very popular match play event will be held at the challenging Bayonet golf course.
Sat-Sun May 25-26 8:00 shotgun	Senior Championship	Determines the senior club champion, age 55 and over, both gross and net scoring, played from the black tees.
Sat-Sun May 26 8:00 shotgun	Super Senior Championship	Determines the super senior club champion, both gross and net scoring, played from the white tees.
May-Sept Mid-week	Senior Exchanges	For those age 50 and over, a series of 12 friendly home and home matches are played with 9 other Peninsula clubs for more than 20-30 Stanford players per match. Other clubs typically include Sharon Heights, Half Moon Bay, Los Altos, Peninsula, Green Hills, San Jose CC, La Rinconada, Boulder Ridge and Almaden. Senior exchange schedule on Golf Fusion. Sat, Jun 1 8:00 shotgun	Limited Club	A very popular tournament format returns as players play with 4 clubs in a foursome of your choice.
Sun, Jun 16 8:00 shotgun	Father-Son/Daughter	You are invited to celebrate Father's Day with your son, daughter, grandchild, daughter in law, son in law, or your own father. This event is often over-subscribed so sign up early.
Jun 13 to Aug 8 Thurs 1:00	NCGA Team Matches	12 Stanford players plus 2 alternates compete with full handicaps in team matches against three other clubs for the right to continue in Northern California's biggest competition. Winners go to Poppy Hills for regional competitions.
Sat, July 13 Sun, July 14 Sat 1:30 Sun 8:00	Summer Invitational	This popular event allows each member to invite a guest to play our great course at a very reasonable rate. The competition format varies for each day of play with lunch served daily and a "tee prize" given to each entrant.
Sun, Aug 4 1:30 shotgun	Mixed Invitational	Sponsored by both the men's and women's golf clubs, who can invite guest couples or individuals to enjoy our special course.
Sat, Aug 24 Sun, Aug 25 8:00 shotguns	Director's Cup	This important "major" event features individual net and gross competitions to determine our individual Director's Cup net winner.
Sat, Sept 7 Sun, Sept 8 Starting Times	Club Championship**	Semi-finals and final matches to determine the Stanford Club Champions in scratch and handicap flights. A scratch flight is open to all members who wish to qualify while others are grouped into flights by handicap. To play in the scratch flight, alumni members must play in a minimum number of tournaments as indicated below **.
Sun, Sept 22 8:00 shotgun	Fall Invitational	This second men's invitational allows each member to invite a non-member guest to play our great course at a very reasonable rate. The competition will be a variation on a two-person best ball format.
Sat, Oct 26 7:30 shotgun	52-Card Pickup	This very popular event returns with a format that allows two-person teams to throw out holes during the round. Holes must be thrown out after they are played so good strategy is a must and the pressure mounts as the round draws to a close.
Sat, Nov 9 8:00 shotgun (TBD)	Stanford Varsity Golf Teams with Members	Play with current men and women varsity golf team players in this special event that pairs one golf team player with three members playing with their handicaps. You're in for a treat in being able to play with some of the nation's best young golfers, some likely to be on future professional tours. Nov ? 12:30 shotgun	Big Game Cup	Run by the Stanford men's golf team, this annual event pits 2-person teams of Stanford alums vs. Cal alums as a fund raiser for both programs. 2012 Big Game Cup Info.
Tue, Dec 3 6:30	Annual Dinner	The Annual Dinner, likely held at the Stanford Faculty Club, features a special guest speaker, presentations by the men's and women's golf coaches and annual awards.

** Club Championship (scratch flight) - Alumni are eligible in the scratch flight only if they have satisfied one of two participation criteria: (1) Participation in at least two current year club tournaments (Senior Exchanges do not qualify, and the Lake Merced and President's Cup two-day events each count as a single event) through the June Father/Offspring Tournament. (2) Participation in at least three club tournaments during the 18-month period ending with the June Father/Offspring Tournament, including at least one current year tournament. As always, alumni and faculty/staff pay-as-you-go members will be required to pay their usual green fees.
